A note about our product information

Established in 1957 but with a history dating back to the 1870s, Sierra Cantabria is a truly brilliant Rioja estate, creating cool, fresh wines with plenty of suave character. Combining knowledge and tradition accumulated over five generations, the Eguren family believe that “above all, we are grape growers”. Located at the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria mountains, covering 18 hectares and at an altitude of 560 meters, it has an Atlantic climate but is also influenced by Mediterranean and Continental climates. The calcareous clay soil is excellent for obtaining high-quality wines and enhancing the expression of the Tempranillo grape. In the glass, the Sierra Cantabria Rioja Crianza 2017 is a bright ruby-red colour with light but intense tones. Wafting from the glass are aromas of ripe berry fruits with complex, spicy notes and elegant vanilla tones from the oak. Sturdy but ripe tannins on the palate make it a rounded and well structured Rioja with ripe fruit, cocoa, coffee and red berries on the finish. Complex and harmonious. A seriously top tier wine that outshines its Crianza status.
