A note about our product information
The first wine produced by the company took its name from the initials CVNE. A fortuitous misspelling between the U and the V created the iconic Cune brand. The specially selected grapes for Cune Gran Reserva come from our own vineyards in Torrentalbo. The vines are 45 years old on average, head-trained and south and east facing, while the soils are clayey with pebbles. The Gran Reserva can be seen as a wine of ‘selection’. First selection takes places in the vineyards selecting only the best bunches, the second selection takes place at the winery on the sorting tables, the third selection is then done at blending time. This selection process ensures only the very best fruit and resulting wine is selected for the Imperial Gran Reserva and that shows in the wine quality on every release, consistently getting excellent scores from the critics and with a track record of being able to age magnificently.
