Tuscany Famous Wines and the Food Pairing

Tuscany region situated in centre of Italy and is known for producing some of the most popular and prestigious wines in the world. The region is famous for producing red wines, although some excellent white wines are also produced. Here are some of the most popular wines from Tuscany:

  1. Chianti: This is perhaps the most famous wine from Tuscany. It is a red wine that is made primarily from the Sangiovese grape. Chianti has a medium to full body, with flavours of cherries, plums, and a hint of spice very easy drinking wine. You can drink Chianti with pizza, any pastas or rad meat.

  2. Brunello di Montalcino: This is a highly regarded red wine that is made exclusively from the Sangiovese Grosso grape. It has a rich and complex flavour profile, with notes of black cherry, leather, and tobacco. Brunello di Montalcino is perfect wine for a rad meat.

  3. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano: Another highly regarded red wine from Tuscany, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is made primarily from the Sangiovese grape. It has a full body, with flavours of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. It goes well with beef stews and hard cheeses.

  4. Vernaccia di San Gimignano: This is a white wine that is made from the Vernaccia grape. It has a light to medium body, with crisp acidity and flavours of citrus and green apple. Vernaccia is easy drinking wine and is go with all sea food and white fish.

  5. Super Tuscan: This is a blend of traditional Tuscan grape varieties, such as Sangiovese, with non-native grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Super Tuscans are highly regarded for their full body, complex flavour profiles, and aging potential. Super Tuscan wine is elegant and expensive chose and is good with the lamb, grilled meat, and pork sausage.
